Can you help me with choosing a block of land?

While we don’t generally get involved in land purchases, we’re more than happy to help you in your considerations. Does Mellross Homes offer House & Land Packages?

Yes, we do! We offer a great range of House & Land Packages to suit anyone from the first home buyer to the investor or growing family – and if we don’t have something for you, we are happy to tailor a package that works.

Where do we start once we've secured our preferred block?

Once you’ve secured your land it is best to contact one of our sales staff to begin the design and pricing process. Our friendly staff are knowledgeable in all aspects of construction, and can help with any questions you might have about building your home.

What if we don't really know the type of house that suits our block?

That’s okay! Many of our clients aren’t sure what house is right for them, and that’s what we’re here for. Our design team will guide you through the selection process and assist in choosing and customising a home that is right for you and for the land it sits on.

Can I alter your standard design to suit my needs?

Of course! All of our standard plans can be altered to suit the specific needs of you and your family. Our priority is your happiness, and we love working together to make one of our homes right for you.

Do we have a fixed price contract?

Yes. We use the Housing Industry Association’s (HIA) Lump Sum Building Contract with all of our clients, so once you sign it ensures that even if market prices change, the price you paid does not.

How long will it take to build our new home?

We have 29 weeks per contract. We have built excellent relationships with our suppliers and contractors over the years to ensure that your home is built as fast as we can deliver.

Who pays for Home Owners Warranty Insurance?

All charges and fees associated with the Home Owners Warranty Insurance are covered by Mellross Homes.

Is there a warranty period with my new home?

We offer all of our clients a 7 year structural warranty, in addition to a 90 day maintenance period following the completion of your build.

Will I get a copy of all the paperwork?

Yes. Your Mellross Homes sales and design consultant will give you a copy of the pre-contract quotation before you receive a full set of plans, selection schedule, work addenda and contract. Everything is documented and we maintain copies on file should you ever lose anything.

Will changes cost me any extra?

This greatly depends on what has been altered. Generally speaking, if you remove an item or area of the home you get money back, reposition an item, then no cost and if you add an item or area to the home then there is a cost involved. If this is the case we ensure that any variation is done the most cost-effective way.

Can I get help with the colours and selections for my new home?

Absolutely! Our highly trained selection consultants are knowledgeable of different colours, trends and styles and will do their best to assist you in your choices. We invite all of our clients to visit one of our showroom to get a first-hand look at the various options and ensure they are happy with the finish, inclusions and quality they will have in their home.

Can Mellross Homes build my kit home?

No, we don’t offer a kit home erection service. In the same respect though, when you choose to build with Mellross Homes we essentially provide you with the kit, and build it too. Building with Mellross Homes also guarantees you quality as well as a 7 year structural warranty on all of our homes.
